Do I get to choose my songs? I know that hearing and dancing to your personal favorite songs makes any event you attend so much better. So of course, I want to use as many of your favorites as I can! I ask that you give me a list of songs that you would like within 2 weeks of your event so that I can prepare well. I also have been around lots of weddings and know music well, so I not only want to please you, but also your guests! I have a large library of songs that is full of crowd pleasers. Between your favorites and my library, we're going to have a good time!
If you just play music, why not use my phone? I do so much more than just play the music! Your DJ should be one that helps everyone celebrate you well and keep the event moving. All events have some kind of schedule, and it is my job to help you stick to it as much as possible. I also love to engage and connect with your guests throughout the evening. I can help to dismiss tables for food, make bridal party announcements, or hype everyone up during Usher's "Yeah." It is not uncommon for me to join you on the dance floor, dancing to the wobble.
Do you help to organize my event? I would love to be able to help you with any song suggestions you may need. If you are looking for moment-specific songs, such as bridesmaids songs, father-daughter dance songs, first dance songs, etc., I'd love to help. For weddings, I will also provide you with a planning sheet to help you think through your ceremony and/or reception.
How do you mix the music? I care a lot about the song choices and transitions. There are DJs that mix songs together like at a nightclub, like one long never ending beat... that's not me. And there are DJs that use lots of sound effects... that's also not me. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy those kinds of DJs as well! However, I care much more about the song choices to keep your guests engaged, not matching up the beats. And I care more about everyone being able to shout the lyrics to songs rather than splicing it up to be hard to follow along with. I watch the room, not the playlist!
Do you have any requirements for at venues? Yes, but not much! Power needs to be available within 20 feet of a ceremony site, and I should be next to power at a reception or event. I ask that you provide a table with a table cloth so that I match your colors and theme (I'm not interested in standing out with a flashy table, I want you to stand out most). Wifi is not required, however, if there is a good connection, it allows me to be much more flexible with song requests during the event.
Do you travel outside of central PA? Absolutely! Contact us about the location and we can talk about our travel fees.
What if it rains? Rain and music equipment don't go well together. I am more than happy to set up and be prepared for an outdoor ceremony, reception, party, etc. However, if it begins to rain, I will need to move my equipment indoors. If your wedding or event day has rain it's forecast, please be prepared with in indoor option.
How much of the payment do you need before the event? I do require full payment before the day of the event. You can choose how to split up payments, as long as it is paid in full by the day of the event. This is to ensure the payment does get to me and there are no issues after the event. There is a downpayment specific to your package required. Contact me for payment plan details!
If I cancel the event/session, is the payment refundable? If your event is canceled because of your own personal reasons, any payment that I have already received cannot be refunded, including the downpayment. You would not owe the remainder of the payment. If the event is canceled due to a personal reason of my own, you will receive full payment back. If the event is canceled due to weather, we will try and reschedule. Be assured, I have never canceled an event/session due to my own personal reasons, I always do everything I can to make it!
